I don’t know what everyone was expecting, honestly.
They (being the other right wing party) did nothing about the train wreck in Palestine, OH (oh wait they did do something: they stopped a strike that would have stopped it from happening). They did fuck all to help the people of Maui after the wildfires and those who were washed outta their homes when the hurricane hit inland North Carolina. They’ve been too busy trying to make the world a more dangerous place, erecting cop cities and funding genocide and trying to tempt Russia into another world war. How could they POSSIBLY make time for us lowly voters?
Not that I like who did win. Trump is a fool given power, a mad clown given the keys to the asylum. I remember his racism and greed running rampant his last term. Democrats should have done something about him after Jan 6! The fact they didn’t arrest him speaks to how they value class solidarity more than the laws of their own country.

And now that democrats snatched defeat from what should have been an easy victory, the finger pointing begins. “Damn those leftists! They ruined it by not bowing to us!” “Damn the working class/black community/Latino community/all those people we couldn’t even consider making promises to/etc ad nauseum!!” Had one call me a white supremacist Nazi for saying “maybe Democrats shouldn’t have made war and genocide a bigger concern than helping anyone.” Cuz Nazis are notoriously anti-genocide, right? And after their amazing campaign building strategy of “ENOJOY THE CAMPS!!”

I hope that people will realize now that better things aren’t possible within the system, that we need to work on building links in our communities and work with people instead of politicians and parties. If anything, we need to do that now, because we should have done it twelve years ago.
We need to move beyond parties. We need to move beyond our rotten government. The new world must begin now.
